I honestly don’t understand why you’d seek asylum in the US as a trans person. Even 2 years ago the country was largely hostile to them.
Most of the world is hostile to us. Even in its current state, parts of the US are still better to live in as a trans person than many places. Parts of Europe and Canada are less hostile, but that’s about it.
She was living in New York City, which until last year was one of the best places in the world you could be for trans rights. It’s still one of the best places for trans people in the US.
