the kids got to hear static and the high pitched whine, but it now is just furniture for a center speaker.
I’ll try to get it fixed eventually!
😭😭😭
Why do you have so many TVs in one room?
glad someone finally asked hahaha
is stardew valley a valid answer? lol
but yeah this is a unique situation kinda.
long story short i set it up like this so we can do multiple things at once. LAN parties, couch co ops etc
(the display up top is an old projector screen)
In light of the recent Gamers Nexus videos:

that LG is from 2012 or something but we love some mulan!
That sounds absolutely wonderful, I want a similar setup someday ☺️
It’s not just TVs! Looking at gigantic speakers in every corner.
Must have party. For dancing of course, not movies.
haha heck yeah! they are badass!
correct they are not part of the video’s sound field but i had considered wiring them up as heights lol
Scope that vintage wood-grain coffee table!
I assume you tried “giving it a good ol’ slap”?
I’m not familiar with the specific model, but most CRT TVs used to have a secret “slap-activated self-repair mechanism”, normally installed in one of the top corners. You just give it a good slap and it magically starts working again.
I hope you told them the static was the same color as the sky over Chiba City. #UnexpectedNeuromancer
There was a post about that a little while ago.
What fucking world do you live in Santa?
i am a very lucky motherfucker!
though it has its costs, and the grass ain’t always the greenest on this side of the fence.
but I’d invite anyone in!
rest from fighting the good fight and to play some smash Bros melee!
though i should mention this isn’t permanent
Did magic smoke come out?
no, very anticlimactic
Was there a pop followed by a magic smoke release?
not that i noticed!
I have two 19" CRT monitors in boxes in my basement and one late-model (new enough for ATSC) but cheap CRT TV, but I kinda wish I also had some TV old enough to have a mid-century modernist wooden chassis.
No you don’t. Them old tube TVs take a lot of tubes that just don’t exist anymore. And they weren’t all that reliable even when new.
Okay, I wish I had a wooden TV chassis that I could transplant more modern electronics into.
Make one. They were pretty much a box with some molding nailed to it.
Weird setup, but I respect it. Bet you’ve got a killer stereo setup to match
got to love the old Frankenstein set up!
