As a Canadian, it would be nice to be able to target shoot with larger calibers rifles. Can’t even rent a .50 BMG at the shooting range anymore because of our current government.
Why are you wanting to use an anti-material rifle at a range for?
Do you enjoy the pain of the recoil?
Feigned indignation to what a nation deems not necessary for living in polite society is a pathetic excuse for advocating for the civilian use of military weaponry even if you are renting it.
I agree with you they went too far but saying you want a .50BMG rifle in a civilian role is just insane in my view.

The answer is simple and you’re going to hate it, it’s a resounding Yes. It’s fun and it’s in a safe environment, what’s there to complain about? We have range officers to monitor people who don’t know what they’re doing for this exact reason.

All in the name of public safety, eh.
True. I’m far far far from a gun nut. But recent world events have me thinking I should renew my license.
Always recommend folks getting their PAL, It’s a fun, but expensive hobby.
This I can agree with but not the anti-material weapon.
You dont need an anti-material weapon. GET OVER IT.
Excuse me? I want to use my .22Lr Kriss Vector that I purchased and got to use once before they bloody banned it. Why are you frustrated?
Also In my original comment i said rent, not purchase, have you ever been to a shooting range?

PAL holders are statistically less likely to commit violent acts compared to every other Canadian, lets not forget that militarized / paramilitary firearms have been prohibited for personal ownership since the 70’s, our government put the blame of the 2020 mass shooting in Nova Scotia on licensed firearms owners with these OIC’s and Bill C21 when the perpetrator was unlicensed, in possession of a firearm illegally and went around town killing people dressed as a officer.
For at least 40+ years .50 BMG rifles were in the governments eyes not specifically militarized firearms, all up until 2020 when they put that 10k joules limit and called them “assault style firearms”, our crime rates involving these types of rifles must’ve been extremely high otherwise why bother implementing the law? Right?
Edit; And when our own Public Safety Minister was caught on leaked audio disagreeing with how they handled the situation all for votes in Quebec this should have all been dropped.
