While I do share the sentiment, I think in this election the following should be the objectives in order of priority:

    1. Prevent a Poilievre government
    2. Get rid of the current NDP leadership

I think given the current numbers, we can achieve both by either voting strategically or by voting LPC.

Once that’s done, we should pile into the NDP leadership election and elect a proper leftist that understands working class politics and economics, along with building people power. If we’re successful, contribute to future election campaigns that flip LPC seats to NDP, in order to hold the power balance of an LPC minority government in the future, if no orange wave.

Doesn’t understand how to represent and organize working class people. Proposes neoliberal policies that are nicer than LPC’s but still aren’t comprehensive, and are … neoliberal. We need a leadership that talks about grand public investment, crown corporations, busting monopolies and oligopolies, pensions, massive unionization, etc. The ironic thing is that Carney is incorporating some of this in his campaign rhetoric. “We’re going to create not thousands of jobs, but hundreds of thousands of careers in the trades. If you like building, get into it, we’ll have a career for you.” Not an exact quote but he’s said some very close things. The NDP has to own the full spectrum of working class issues and talk about class issues in general. Teach people about it if they have to. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jagmeet doesn’t know much about what created his party and why Tommy Douglas was so successful.
