As a Linux developer I work across multiple contexts throughout the day — one project needs 15 research tabs open, another needs the docs, a third has the CI/CD pipeline logs. Used to have everything open simultaneously, now I use named sessions.
Workflow: save current set of tabs as ‘Project A’, close them, load ‘Project B’ session. Switch back when needed.
Extension: Tab Manager & Session Saver (MIT licensed, all local, no telemetry). Works in Firefox — stores sessions in extension local storage, one click to save/restore.
Combining this with Firefox profiles (separate profiles per project for full session isolation) is also useful for larger contexts.
Does anyone have a different approach to context switching in their browser? Curious what works for others.
