As a new Lemmy user, I’m curious where most people use it from - Is it web, mobile, desktop app?
I’m using Photon and it looks pretty good. At least better than the default web one.
On mobile I use db0 Voyager pwa. on desktop I use old.lemmy.world but if db0 every set up that mlmym skin I’d use that on desktop
Phone, boost. Always forget I can also use my desktop browser but honestly I’m so used to Boost it’s like it’s a completely different website
Really it was Reddit no longer allowing third party apps to use their APIs that got me to look elsewhere and since I had been using Boost for Reddit anyway, and there was also a Boost for Lemmy
I use it from the toilet
Currently, the living room. I’m accessing it via browser on my phone or ipad.
Boost app
Mostly on mobile.
I switch between 3 apps because they each have features that I like.
Jerboa because I like to view user profiles and communities moderated
Voyager because I like the user tagging feature
Eternity because I prefer timestamp format instead of time elapsed format, and it reminds me of Infinity which was my preferred 3rd party app to browse reddit, when I used to do that.
If only I could have user profiles, user tags, and timestamps in one app…
interstellar with Mbin because it also supports mastodon
Mobile, in browser with desktop mode on.
I’m weird about apps. It’s not even a privacy thing really, I just never got into them as a concept.
Same
From home mostly. Sometimes from public transport, or the shitter at work.
I had bought the ad-free version of Boost before the Redditpocalypse, so I got the ad-free Lemmy Boost and have found it to be pretty great.
When I’m at my computer, I use the theme that looks like a dark mode of old reddit.
Right now, from Emacs.
On mobile with Voyager. I’ve tried other clients, but I always come back to Voyager.
My phone in the woods in the foothills of southern Appalachia
How’s the signal?
VSCode extension.
Voyager App.
Almost exclusively.Voyager rulesss
Same. On PC I use a web browser, but it’s so much slower and less polished than Voyager.
