I was once intrigued by the idea of turning an old laptop into a wall clock (something like clock-tui) but I didn’t want to waste a whole laptop’s power draw just on that.

There was an article about such things on Hackaday iirc.

I did “repurpose” my local network server’s screen to show the time and/or currently playing song though.
