We are getting a lot more tomatoes now. I know they will make my wife very happy when they are ripe.

Eh yo OP delivered hell yeah. Damn man those are some nice roots. Does that basin require a lot of attention? Looks great for its size.
Just the usual as far as I am aware. The pump and lights come pre timed. Every week I will pump the water out and every couple or few weeks I will take the whole thing out to rinse the basin and take out any build up. Idk if I am supposed to do this or not but I will also spray water on the roots too while they hang over a bucket
That sounds like a pretty sweet little setup with everything taken care of. I like it. I’d say yeah, in general its good to wash the roots like you are. You can even let them dry out completely after that rinse. There’s a biofilm type layer that’ll develope on the roots, which is good, but can get bad. Sweet little spot to experiment. Cheers man.
