For me, if I ask for an unpopular opinion and you say something about pineapple on pizza I’m going to assume you have no personality.

I don’t really like doors. Not their function but their design. Everyone’s just satisfied with the status quo, like basically the same door for millennium, and no one thinks we should innovate?
What do want to see different with them? Share or appearance? Do you want more saloon-styled doors or should they have more texture and decorations? Or should they open in different way?
Im imagining some of my house mates over the years and the inconsiderate nature in which they closed doors in the middle of the night. It’d be nice if that didn’t have to be a concern. No idea what could be done, but so many nights it effected my sleep. Its my biggest pet peeve.
Perhaps a sliding door with a cushion or something like it on each side, making it sound less if slammed open? Or a door closer arm would do the trick.
Sliding doors punish door slammer by rolling back open. At least, all the interior pocket doors I’ve experienced. Makes for a good habit correction prpgram
We are moving soon and need to add a wall with a door. I’m considering a sliding door. Do you have any experience regarding their soundproofness?
Sorry, I was never really in a situation to judge soundproofness. They were open when we were boisterous, closed when empty
I’m not who you asked but I’ve worked as a carpenter in the past; both types of doors can be soundproofed, it depends more on the surrounding doorframe/wall and weather the door itself has a solid core (quieter, but more $) or not.
Thanks!
Pivot doors, sliding doors, rotary doors pocket doors, lifting doors, double doors, screen doors, storm doors, front doors, back doors, garage doors, The Doors, Mordor…
Gull-wing doors, scissor doors, morphing doors, iris doors, hidden doors.
Lots of doors. What more innovation do you want?
Maybe it was an innovation but we don’t have Mordor in our homes.
Yeah, then it would be easy to simply walk into Mordor. You’d fuck your nose up.
You’re really missing out. One door to rule them them all.
Aw common The doors are a grade above Status Quo. Gonna go listen to Roadhouse Blues.
It’s not broken. Don’t fix it.
