Which of course involved unloading the suitcases and duffel bags and putting the clothes and towels away, washing the linens, and going around the house and plugging everything back in. I had considered perhaps doing some yard work since the yard hasn’t been touched for over a week but it’s been raining and that’s my excuse not to.

My neighbor took care of my cat while I was away. I paid him in beer which he greatly appreciated, and at some point I’ll probably make him a thank you card from the cat as well.

Tomorrow it’s back to work.

You don’t get to hear about the vacation itself. It was not dull.

More common than you’d think, my partner does this every time we go away for longer than a day or two (it’s also good practice tbh, better safe than sorry!).

So you do it because you don’t trust your electric devices to what, not set the whole place on fire?
