I’ve always been a fan of language with evidentialism in their grammars. This is not the only such language.

Some have it only when talking about past tense. There might be, for example, five categories of where you knew the thing from. If all language were unable tell about things in the past tense without implying where they know the information from, populists would never end up in charge of any country. You can’t make people afraid of foreigners if you cannot imply that you are talking about your own experience without outright saying aloud that they are.

It’s self-deprecating fourth-wall-breaking commentary on fediverse culture. Have you never been accused of sealioning when questioning someone’s lack of a source?

I have never heard of sealioning before this as well. Its kinda funny with these things because honestly if someone uses I term I don’t know and they are like agressive or comabatative I just shrug my shoulders and move on. Im not going to ask about their stupid term in that type of situation. Eventually I come across something like this and find out and then shrug my shoulders anyway but more. oh. well thats something.

On the fediverse moderator actions are public, so you can see what the moderators are upto by checking the modlogs. I don’t really understand what the context is here though
