On the night of Jan. 7 this year, three 250-pound bombs smashed into an apartment block in the Al Tuffah neighbourhood of northern Gaza. Footage of the aftermath shows walls collapsed, rubble piled up and blackened household items scattered across the scene.

Although a ceasefire has been in effect since October, and a Board of Peace led by US President Donald Trump has been announced to begin phase two of that process, Israel has continued to conduct strikes within Gaza

The IDF claimed they targeted a senior Hamas operative in response to a violation of the ceasefire agreement in the Jan. 7 attack.

Two people were reported to have been killed.

While the strike was an Israeli operation, among the debris were munition remnants of at least three US-made GBU-39 Small Diameter Bombs, including one that failed to explode.

This is infuriating but not surprising. Bellingcat laying out concrete cases of US-made munitions turning up in strikes on homes, schools, and hospitals makes the uncomfortable truth plain: our weapons are being used where civilians die, and official rhetoric about mitigation and restraint rings hollow when the sales never stop.

If the State Department admits there are “instances inconsistent” with international law, then congress should stop pretending this is somebody else’s problem. Cut the unconditional aid, suspend weapon transfers, and demand real, independent investigations with consequences. Peace plans and press releases mean nothing if the stream of bombs keeps flowing.

I’m tired of the hypocrisy. If the US wants to be a global arbiter of human rights, start acting like it, not arming one side while wringing hands about civilian casualties.

Peace plans and press releases mean nothing more than the value of pacifying people enough to keep the actual plan running smoothly in the background.

We know their actual plan, they’ve been talking about it and acting upon it the entire time.

Why do you think our president’s real estate investor son in law has been running around Gaza and its strategic neighbors since the first administration? Why is he now a key intermediary in ‘diplomatic’ negotiations regarding the Israel-Hamas ‘war’? This guy had zero experience in anything even relating to international diplomacy before he joined his father in law’s administration.

This is all going according to plan, while they distract us with everything else.
