Well done them, keep it up. If we are going to beat global warming this is how to do it. They are a shining example to the rest of the world

How did they manage to do so spectacularly badly? I think part of the problem is that they were trying to predict times and locations, rather than focusing on individual offenders. Past record is highly predicitive of future behaviour, i.e. if an offender has committed assault half a dozen times, it is highly probable that they will commit another assault or similar violent offence again, we just dont know when or where. Poor quality data may also be part of it - garbage in, garbage out

We do the rehabilitation/ treatment thing here. It does not work, at least long term - not surprisingly really given that it is an innate defect of laregly biological origin. The best solution is perhaps not prison per se but some kind of community where they can live somewhat normal lives but are isolated away from children and have filtered net access so there is no possibilty of their reoffending

This would be the ideal solution, yes

Child Sex Abuse Material

The problem isnt the registries per se, it is that they are extremely poorly administered if children are being put on them. The criteria for adding an individual to such registries needs to be strict and with a reasonably high threshold, so that nobody gets on one for things like pissing outside, or accidental exposure, or minors sexting each other, or for accidentally having a few CSAM images that they had downloaded unwittingly etc
I had some involvement with a local registry some years back, and we only inluded adults who physically offended against minors and with a significant age difference, and adults who were actively and deliberately involved in the production and distribution of copious quantities of CSAM. Most had track records involving multiple offences and multiple victims

Yeah I have a midrange Samsung A31, its more than adequate for my needs

The thing is, we dont generally needed the noisy table muted, we just need it reduced in volume enough at our own table so we are able to carry out a normal conversation

You should ride around the city centre here, you will have so much glass in your tires in no time flat, you’ll love it!

I dont know, I have never had to replace one, so never had to take one off. The one time I ever had one fail was when I hit a piece of timber with multiple nails in it, and I got my local bike shop to swap it. Tyre was already over ten years old at that point, and given I ride somewhere between 200 and 600kms a month probably had well over 10,000 kms on it

Will need to make a bunch of them rather than put them where extremists cant bomb them - after all they still need to be accessible after an apocalypse. Multiple redundancy, make them cheaper, maybe less durable, but get them in so many places that there will always be a few left around. Maybe task someone with knocking out mass produced reproductions and swapping them out whenever one gets wrecked

Interesting tech but there are already decent available solutions such as the Schwalbe Marathon Plus and similar that are effectively glassproof, I have these on my bike and they work really well, one is over 15 years old now

I have been hearing stories of people here experiencing credit card fraud after buying stuff off TEMU. I wouldnt touch it myself, looks too good to be true

Same here. Its a bit shabby and heavy on gas but I can fix most things on it myself… but at least I dont have this issue

You deserve rights so long as you respect the rights of others
This is the best approach and one had has far wider application beyond just the internet

Funnily enough all of the above does actually work for some people, but it should absolutely never be the first or only option. When peole ask me if they should use medication, therapy, or 12 step programmes I would say all of the above

Yes, referring someone to AA if they know it will not work for them is just stupid. AA may work for some people but it cannot and should not be the only referral or treatment option - medication is going to be a better option for many. Unfortunately its much the same here

Yes, Disulifram is the oldest of these, been around many years, and some chronic alcoholics just drink over it and power through the hangover
Naltrexone is the one I have heard most positive things about, never even heard of Acamprosate before.
Unfortunately when I was in a relationship with an alcoholic some years back Disulifiram was the only thing doctors here were even aware of.
Thank you for this. Your link is for Windows Server, its subtly different for standard Windows 10/11, I found this link that directed me what to do here; https://kb.firedaemon.com/support/solutions/articles/4000160803-prioritising-ipv4-over-ipv6-on-windows-10-and-11
I’ve just done it, hopefully this will sort all the buffering issues I’ve been having not just with Youtube but Deezer too
