If we’re stuck on incorporating greenery in our architecture, it’s gonna need to stick to grassy type plants.
usualsuspect191@lemmy.cato World News@lemmy.ml•I’m not trying to destroy art, says man planning to do just that if Assange dies in jail4·1 year agoThat’s exactly my point… The way the headline is worded it conflates his plan with trying to destroy the art when the full context of the quote is his clarifying that he’s specifically not trying to destroy the art nor does he believe it’ll come to that. It’s a misleading headline that also doesn’t quite make sense as it conflates trying to do something with publicly “planning” to do something you don’t believe will actually happen.

Unfortunately there also need to be at least some strings attached to social housing too… There are people who are too violent or destructive to live that way.
The best results are housing first/financial aid first, but with a pre filter to weed out those few who are the more entrenched/troubled that this approach doesn’t work for. Of course, those few are also many of the people that are the most “visibly” homeless and what the public pictures when they imagine the problem which becomes a funding issue as a successful program won’t have the visible results people expect.

usualsuspect191@lemmy.cato Canada@lemmy.ca•Dismantling homeless camps violates human rights, says federal housing advocate21·1 year agoTechnically correct, but kinda besides the point… We don’t want people to no longer be technically homeless, we want to help them.
For the vast majority of homeless people simply giving them a home, or even some cash is all they need and they take it from there.
For the entrenched? Many will refuse or be unable to use whatever housing you provide (unless it’s built like a prison cell but who the hell wants to live in that?). Sure, they’ll technically not be homeless anymore because they “have” a home now, but they’ll still be sleeping outside/living the exact same if that’s what they choose.
So yes, for the vast majority of homeless people the only thing that makes them homeless is that they don’t have a home, but it’s disingenuous to ignore the rest who that doesn’t apply to.

I wanna say Windows 95? The game was barely a game, and I recall the graphics were especially primitive even for the time (think something you’d do in paint in like an hour total). Can’t remember what it was called though… Pretty sure it was just in a folder and I found it just randomly browsing files.
It was just looking out from the cockpit of a spaceship (think like that typical white dots flying by a black background) and using the mouse to shoot lasers at stuff that popped up (flying saucers maybe? Honestly can’t remember). I don’t even think there were levels or anything beyond that, can’t even remember if there was a score. There was no flying/controlling the ship either.
It is economy
