You don’t have to even disable it, just turn off voice commands. You can still activate it by pushing a button. Personally Ive been using Bing chat over Google assistant for a few months now.

For now. The important thing is that there is an alternative place for people to go when Reddit does things they don’t like. Everytime Reddit does something that angers their users this place will grow.

Don’t you think people will switch from threads to Mastodon? I think there are allot of people who would rather not have Meta’s app installed on their phone.

I only use it when I’m on desktop. Their mobile app isn’t bad in my opinion, but I just refuse to give them my data.

America is better at war. Shock and Awe was effective. War is an atrocity, to be good at it you have to be willing to commit atrocities. If Russia had started out with a similar strategy Ukraine might be an occupied territory of Russia right now. I don’t support any invasion, but if you decide to invade a country you need to hit them hard before they have time to organize their defense. I think Russia had some weird Idea that Ukraians were going to welcome them as liberators. I think this is because the Russian government began to believe their own propaganda. Putin surrounds himself with people who tell him what he wants to hear.

Gotta post content and engage with the small communities to help them grow I guess. Since I’ve started a few weeks ago I’ve seen new communities spring up everywhere. Hopefully in time whatever you are missing will come to Lemmy.

I gave them some money after I graduated college. I had used them so much it felt right to give back a bit.

I’m entitled to leave to another instance. One of the main things to look at when choosing an instance is who they are federated/defederated with. I would never join BeeHaw Lemmy.world, or Sh.itjust.works because of their feud. I’d rather join a third party instance and have access to all the content on all three.
