No they didn’t. Calgary has 25 seats, 14 of which are NDP. In 2023 there were 5 more that were lost by fewer than 1100 votes combined, which would have changed the outcome of the election. This was the best head-to-head showing by the NDP in Alberta ever.
And with high-visibility Calgary-centric Nenshi as leader, It’s entirely possible that that balance flips.
Calgary isn’t as conservative as you might want to believe.

Carney is a guy that seems singularly equipped for this moment. We’d be fools not to take advantage of that.

And yes, it will be superior to Starlink in multiple ways.
Saying cut starlink out is fine and all but there are lots of places and communities without any decent broadband options at all (in Canada and beyond).
You may be unaware, but Telstat will have their LEO constellation and subsequent high speed satellite internet up and running by 2027. A Canadian solution to a Canadian problem.
