Disassociation is the soundtrack of my childhood! Can’t get hurt if I’m watching someone else be abused, even if that someone else is me!
~yes I’ve been to therapy and working through disassociation is still a daily struggle thx~
I use Debian btw

The only thing getting between me and the task is Wikipedia article on metallurgy in pre-Colombian Mesoamerica.
I don’t know if this is an ADHD thing or just not liking being told what to do (perhaps some of Column A, little of Column B), but god did I hate reading when I was made to in school. I’ll spend hours reading Wikipedia articles on some niche shit. I’ve spent plenty of time reading books I liked on my own time. But meeting my Accelerated Reader points goals was always a slog, and I’ve grown to really resent the system.
One time, my brother and I were building a new rig for him. After spending an hour putting the thing together, it wouldn’t boot. Like, push the power switch and NOTHING happened. We called his buddy who’s a real wizard with computers. His first question was, “Did you try reseating all the power connectors on the board?” And that’s right when we discovered we didn’t connect the power for the CPU.
Utilities could (and should) have started planning for this years ago
I agree, but I have had the idea for a while that power companies are in bed with big oil. Sure, they sell a lot of gas to us for our cars, but they sell A LOT more fuel to utility companies. Makes sense that they prioritize staying in business over anything else. As we move to electric cars, it’s like the most unsurprising thing that oil companies would focus on power companies, especially since power companies almost always operate monopolistically.

Done.
The link provided with the title of the post isn’t necessary to click. I only put it there to provide a little bit of legitimacy to the post. It’s the NYT’s own domain hosting a page that provides the onion service and some info about it.
If you have Tor installed on your machine, you can copy/paste the onion at the end of the post into Tor’s address bar once you’re connected to Tor. This should navigate directly to the NYT’s front page. Note, if you’re part of the uninitiated, you must use Tor to navigate to the link. You shouldn’t see the page I linked with the post.
Even on Tor, if you use the clear web site provided in the link, yes, you will see the box asking for a subscription. You can click the x to get rid of it.
I hope this helps out.
I did not know this. I never looked into it, mostly because the BBC isn’t kept behind a paywall lol Makes sense, though.
I can see how that’d be a little confusing, especially if you’re just finding out about Tor lol
Hence, I provided a link to The Tor Project and the onion directly in the post.
If someone doesn’t follow my advice, I don’t actually care. It was cool that you called asking for it to begin with. It’s very arrogant of someone to get upset that another person didn’t take their advice. You can’t possibly know all of the underlying factors. If someone calls asking for my insight, it’s kind of an honor that they trust me that much.
I’m also the oldest of five so I field a few calls from my youngest two siblings (who are fresh new adults, 9 and 12 years younger than me) asking what to do. It’s pretty cool watching the little stinkers figure shit out.
Might as well use the latest numbers for this comparison. Yes, inflation is still absolutely sucking us all dry.
God, have I ever fucking been there. The worst feeling is when you think you’re getting things done…then it hits you that the last two hours of your life were a complete waste, and you weren’t even having fun while doing it.
