  • No, Hamas brought Bibi to power, not the other way around, and they were adamantly against 2 state.

I really think Perez and Arafat could have finished the Oslo accords. I think that’s why Hamas went all out to make sure he couldn’t complete Rabins’ legacy after that radical orthodox piece of shit assassinated him. The timing of the bombingd and election results make it pretty definitive that Bibi’s rise to power was their goal. I really don’t see a difference between Bibi and Hamas and think they desperately need each other. They’re all fuckign war criminals.

I’m definitely with you on all civilian losses. They are horrific and condemable. As are all Bibis/IDF and Hamas war crimes. I condemn all war crimes and collective punishment of civilians is a war crime, as is Hamas, operating with them as shields.

But I definitely also think Israel has a right to exist. Which is a super unpopular opinion amongst all the antisemites on Lemmys world news, including very specifically their mods.

  • No Hamas sunk the two state solution when Bibi was up against Perez and losing. So Hamas used suicide bombers and blew up buses murdering civilians like always. It enabled Bibi to win by less than 1%. Perez was looking to implement two state, and Israel was still behind it till then.

Hamas successfully swayed Israeli opinion enough to get Bibi in there and sink any chance of two states.

Ironically, if Arafat had cracked down on Hamas, Perez would have won, and Arafat would have stayed in power. But by protecting the terrorists he cost himself his position and ensured Hamas’ rise to power.

History is neat if you learn it, but it’s probably annoying when you talk shit without knowing what you’re talking about.
