plactagonic@sopuli.xyzto Technology@lemmy.world•Is Flatpaks the future for Linux?English162·2 years agoIt makes sense to drop them in favour of flatpaks but flatpak, snap or appimage are still not fully developed. I think that universal packaging makes sense for some (most) apps.
For core OS apps it makes sense to package them the old way but everything added like office, games, browser … it is just not sustainable.
