Technology@lemmy.world•Windows 11’s push for mandatory Microsoft accounts is hitting a nerve with users who say the change complicates setup, privacy, and basic PC ownershipEnglish
6·3 days agoIf I were ever to use that Microslop thing they call OS, it would be mandatory to have a local user.
I do not mind if some/any OS has optional accounts for online services, nor do I mind possibility to use online account instead of local one.
As long as everything is purely optional and thus giving convenience or usability depending on the usercase.

1·6 days agoYeah. As soon as the transparent title hit the top, it started to stutter. Like 2 fps.
I use Fennec on A54 (8Gb). It just does not seem right to be so laggy/stuttery as the content is merely text. How bad can the code rendering the content be?
I have never accomplished such a site.
And it really can’t be due to device and browser. Many others on different setup have stated the same.
Visually similar site should run on moldy potato.

8·6 days agoIt’s laggy as hell on my mobile phone. And it’s not a bad/cheap model.
The site is basically whitevtext on black background and some colored code snips.
It should scroll smooth on 1980’s Casio watch.

677·7 days agoI can’t say anything about the content of this blog. It was horribly laggy to scroll on mobile device. And by horribly laggy, I mean like aunt’s 1986 vacation slide show on a projector while having dry cookies and tasteless off brand earl grey.
I’m sorry if it sounds rude but I had to bring this on out in the open. What even runs under the hood on that blog…

16·8 days agoWell, the very name of the song is the name of the plane carrying the Little Boy to Hiroshima.
And it’s the same for me too. Never knew the name of this song, nor listend to the lyrics even though I have heard it like million times.
This was a nice little TIL.

World News@lemmy.ml•Enemy fighter jet operations over central Iran reduce sharply after F-35 strike: Source
53·12 days agoIf the plane emits anything, it can be tracked. Ofcourse this one needs sophisticated tech to track, but it is quite doable.
F-35’s play is to hide far and engage from there. Well, what if enemy isn’t to be seen from afar? You fly in solitude and do nothing? Or maybe go closer?
Air superiority over contested area can’t be achieved without actually entering the area somehow.

It’s the unfathomable data traffic to and from the F-35, be it wide spectrum and encrypted that gives it away.
In closed airspace such as in Iran right now, there’s digital signal whose location moves hundreds of kimometers per hour. What could it be…?
Now only thing you need to do is listen to that signal and stay hidden unti it comes close. Boom!
If you can listen a signal that is moving, you can calculate it’s trajectory and predict it’s forecoming location.
And hell, that digital monster of “stealth” plane can be fooled by dropping false signals here and there and like everywhere. That’ll shif it’s situational awareness towards blindness.
Also demolishing half a billion dollar AWACS beforehand helps a lot. One of eight there is.
