I just got a notification today, that I can not continue using my banking app on my phone without first registering with the government… dark days for privacy.

I think this move will actually hurt Apple in the long run - budget conscious users will switch to the cheaper computers, and it lessens the value of a brand most people only purchase for its status symbol.

agreed. KDE is pretty much the gold standard of the usability versus resource usage tradeoff, IMHO. From what I’ve seen: Websites/Web Browsers = worst offenders.

I wonder how much of this is just modern web apps… even running without a containerized distro and a leaner DE - I still have +90% of my RAM taken up by websites.
