Moving to a tropical country was a revelation in that there’s no pollen season. I could finally breathe!

My preferences often stray onto darker paths, but why not both? https://youtu.be/VhoHnKuf-HI

Being old and stubborn matters. ;)

Ummm, the features you described are all in Vivaldi. Browser engine is Blink (Chromium). My experience with it has been that it’s very fast and stable. I’ve used Opera since about version 6. My nostalgia is real.

The developers who wanted to keep the original philosophy of Opera alive moved on and formed Vivaldi instead. I recommend you try it. It certainly gave me a nostalgic sense of what Opera used to be, and has a lot of useful new features.

You’re right, or at least mostly right. About 5% of Vivaldi’s code is closed. Yes, I understand that people don’t like that, but the point of Vivaldi is to be Opera if it had continued to follow the original vision of what Opera was. If they’re gonna stay on that course and be able to earn a living doing it, then I understand if they feel the need to keep some of it secret. I support open source, but among the vast amount of browsers I’ve tried, Vivaldi was the only one that truly sang to me after Firefox decided to go evil corpo. If people want to get their pitchforks and downvote me to oblivion for that, that’s fine.

Try Vivaldi. I’m very happy with it so far.
Harboured a lifelong passion for computers. Having it as my job for 13 years made me lose much of that passion. To the young’uns: if you love something, consider whether you want to separate between what you do to pay for food and bills, and what makes you heart shine.

To be fair, the research is on regenerating, not regrowing. I wouldn’t expect regrowing lost teeth to be possible any time soon, unless some kind of bio 3D-printing method became available.

“Dental enamel has a unique structure, which gives enamel its remarkable properties that protect our teeth throughout life against physical, chemical, and thermal insults,” said lead author Dr. Abshar Hasan
This man doesn’t just disapprove of people mistreating their teeth, he is personally insulted by it. A true dentist.

Congratulations, you made fun of a dead three year old today, you really accomplished something. What’s tomorrow’s target?
Reminds me of when I was having a chat with the owner of a company I worked at in London. We had just made ourselves a cup of tea, he got himself a digestive to go with it. He dipped the digestive in his tea, and mid-sentence only half of the biscuit came back up. Stunned silence. The look of utter misery and disappointment on his face stays with me to this day - this was the last thing he needed just then. I suggested it could be fixed by adding the rest of the packet of biscuits and enjoy it as a biscuit porridge - he wasn’t entirely convinced. 😄

Who needs’em? If Uncle Vlad hears that Ze Germans are rolling across the Polish border, he’ll be skipping on one leg back to Russia while changing his soiled pants. :D

Probably couldn’t trust Trump to come through, but you have to keep in mind that he’s not an autocrat quite yet. Not everyone in the US government shares his views on NATO and the commitments the US has pledged to under that alliance. Look at the rest of NATO. You have four of the top ten military powers in the world to start off with (UK, France, Turkey, Italy). Then add to that the rest of Europe and Poland’s own considerable military might. Canada would also join in, and those otherwise peaceful Canadians go fucking nuts when provoked. Even disregarding NATO, you have the Anglo-Polish Alliance, which is a mutual assurance that the UK provides military assistance (or vice versa) if their ally is invaded. Poland also has many close friends and allies in the old East Bloc, so the misconception that they would be left to their own devices is simply untrue.

Ukraine isn’t a member of NATO. In fact, their wish to join the EU and NATO could very well be the excuse Putin needed to start the invasion.

What else do we have left at this point?

Ukraine not being a NATO member yet is most likely among the main reasons Putin had the balls to send troops across the border. There’s absolutely no way he’d risk a full-on confrontation with NATO, because he knows it would be the end of the Russian Federation.
Follow-up question: when will the world’s most heavily-armed populace decide that enough is enough and start shooting their oppressors instead of eachother?
