would you like to know whether you’re speaking to an actual human on the other end of the line?

“bot speak” becomes unintelligible to humans.
at some point we will give a name of this phenomenon of internet users who are completely undecipherable for normal people … and call it autism (/hj)

It’ll be bots writing articles for bots, bots summarising them for other bots, bots commenting underneath, and bots measuring the engagement.

huh that’s weird, it’s not paywalled for me.

uhh, the bots are requesting multiple sites in parallel, not in series, so it’s difficult to say “hey look, that user moves through 5 pages per second”. instead, you’d say “hey look, there’s 5 users each crawling through 1 page per second”.

everybody knows that you can’t trust wikipedia for topics where a third-party might profit from manipulating what’s written in the article, such as a company brand might remove criticism from its page. this is basic knowledge i think (or at least i hope)

look i know that this gets a lot of hate but the current trajectory of “you need to prove your worth to the world to have a legitimate reason to exist” is just not sustainable. fuck all that “we support that artist”, we should be supporting the person, whether they output art or not.
the current rage against AI is 90% driven by the idea that humans need to produce output sothat we can donate to them and give them money sothat they can live. and frankly, that’s a dystopian idea in my eyes.

i mean this tell you everything that you need to know: as soon as the animation quality of a channel is good enough, it gets accused of being AI. what does this tell us about the quality of AI output?
yeah the “tankie bar” issue is a real problem.
i’m not complaining about mods or sth, just as a general viewpoint of how to treat new useres.

oh yeah you’re right, it got restored.
That post is just setting off all kinds of alarm bells.
yeah actually now that i look at it again, you might be right.
i kinda just saw “oh hey new user” and went into auto “treat them nicely” mode. didn’t actually note much what they wrote on their backstory
yeah i basically fucked up and sent a direct link to my old account to a couple people that i know irl. after considering that this is not good, i had to make an alt.
also thanks for recognizing me, that makes me proud.

well yeah chile is long but significantly longer than broad. for the US, the length/width ratio is more like 2:1 so it’s less extreme.
and also yeah, australia is big, but mostly all desert (i guess 90%) while the US is only 50% desert.
yeah and i find it weird how little attention is given to the symbolic targets … the World Trade Center was largely involved in establishing cross-country businesses … in other words, meddling within other country’s internal economics (often to the dismay of the local population). by far not all people in the world wanted free trade. so they attacked the free trade center … and that was a symbol against free trade, free trade being an unwanted thing by many other people around the globe because it meant the disruption of native economic systems, etc.
and yet that fact that free trade is not globally understood as something universally good, and that maybe there should be less of it, … i don’t think that i’ve ever heard any newspaper talk about that.

yeah i suspected it was actually an army project to prepare for the escalation of the cold war. that’s why it was released after 1980 … it was considered that it wasn’t necessary anymore (to keep it in stockpile).
wood contains about 50% water btw, so it’s not really dry
unfortunately true. this whole gender issue has been used as a huuge distraction scheme from the economic situation and other urgent issues.
