  • Fair criticism.

Yes, we use AI. Some of our visuals are AI-generated, some of our copy is AI-assisted and we use AI tools in development too. We’re not pretending otherwise. In development, AI is part of the normal toolkit in 2026. We use it to help review code, spot problems and catch potential security issues. Every change is reviewed and owned by humans. No vibe coding.

What matters to us is where AI is NOT used: it doesn’t read your mail, profile your inbox, train on your data or make security decisions. Code changes are reviewed by humans.

The mail infrastructure itself runs on Open-Xchange, a German company that has been building mail software since 2005 and powers mailboxes for large telecoms and hosting providers across Europe. That’s the part you’re trusting with your data, and it’s not something we built over a weekend.

We’re open to everyone, whatever their background, ethnicity, religion or beliefs. And we’re just as open when it comes to art: some of the AI artists we feature have hundreds of thousands of followers, and we also collaborate with photographers like Sebastian Magnani and his Batman series. Photography was once called “not real art” too. Taste differs, and AI art is here to stay just like photography did.

And yes, apparently groups of three are now evidence of LLMs. We’ll try writing in groups of four.

Judge the service by its privacy, security, reliability and what we do with your data. Not by whether a paragraph has suspiciously tidy sentence structure.

  • Invite-only and paid, and we don’t plan to change that.Paid, because mailboxes, storage, infrastructure, development and support cost money. We’d rather charge for the service than fund it with ads, tracking or your data. Invite-only, because @fuck.it addresses are meant to stay exclusive, not something anyone can grab in bulk. It also protects everyone else: every mailbox shares the same sending infrastructure, and one spammer can get our IPs onto blocklists. Screening requests keeps that from happening. That said, getting in isn’t hard. Requests are usually reviewed within the hour.
