Facebook once explained that their mobile app is so huge because they encourage everyone to just roll their own thing instead of sharing code, because it’s faster to not have to coordinate or something. Well, if you never leverage other people’s work ever, you’re going to spend a lot of time reinventing wheels, and a lot of those wheels will look more like hexagons.

Not to mention that business, especially stuff with a long lead time like a new manufacturing facility, needs one thing above all else: predictability. And there is no predictability in a country run by Trump.

Sure, to a large extent existing in the US costs money, and you’d need to spend some on transportation or pay a premium to live in a walkable area. But beyond that there are still affordable activities you could do. Some things I’ve done in the US which only cost me the price of transportation:

• Aforementioned frisbee in the park
• Hiking with friends (met one of them at work, joined his group, brought a lunch box)
• Various activities at a local community center or library (not all places have one, some places churches are the closest you can get)
• Attended a weekly meetup about a topic I was interested in
• Chatted with someone while waiting in a line

Sure, a lot of the more affordable activities you’ll probably only be able to do once a week. You can do multiple activities. Sometimes you meet friends who invite you to other activities. Help, I have too many activities!

There are other ways to interact which don’t imply treating people to things. Yes, in this case the person spent money on tickets, but he could have been on his way to any other activity and invited the person to join that. Or he could have offered the person to buy their own ticket and join.

“Hey, I’m on my way to play frisbee in the park, want to come?” – totally free.

It doesn’t, though. He was going to an activity, met a person on the way there, and invited the person to join. Had he been on his way to a free activity the gesture would be free.

“Going with the flow” doesn’t necessarily mean “blow all your life savings”, and it’s kind of ridiculous to claim that it does. I’m sorry you seem to have been exploited by some people you were trying to connect with, but that’s not what is being encouraged here.

I can’t speak to whether they have the right guy or not, but it certainly seems like they only had illegally obtained data suggesting it was him, and then decided to arrest him anyway by planting some stuff in his backpack. So far they haven’t disclosed any admissible evidence, considering the backpack broke chain of custody.

You would start suspecting something was up pretty early on, when his trumper family stated that he had become “more political” recently. Trumpers absolutely would have called it out specifically if he had become more left-leaning, so the vagueness was a big hint.

The inscriptions on the bullet casings are all groyper memes, including “hey fascist, catch this”, which references the game Helldivers 2, a game where you fight fascists, but which has been co-opted by fascists.

The other background info we’ve been told which suggests groyper are his Halloween costumes, one dressed as trump and one as Pepe the frog doing a slav squat in a track suit. Dressing up like that doesn’t exactly scream leftist. It’s too risky to even do ironically.

So far I’ve seen one witness account saying he was saying leftist things, but this was later retracted due to the witness suspecting he confused him with a different person. Someone also claimed he had a trans roommate, but that guy had just dressed up in a hoodie and asked an AI to draw him, and it drew a female furry or something. Apparently that’s all it takes to be labeled trans in Trump country.

As motivation for the killing, what you’re saying is correct. But when it comes to protesting in the streets, they’re going to go after their usual token minorities, regardless of who did the actual killing. Hence why they’re trying real hard to label an obvious groyper as “left-leaning” and pretending he had a trans roommate.

They probably still think the killer is a trans immigrant. Much more convenient than facing reality.

If side loading is actually allowed on iOS it’s exclusively because the past few years of lawsuits forced them to, and they keep trying to block it in new ways. Android can only be equally bad as Apple at worst, because Apple is as bad as they are legally allowed to in a given jurisdiction. So picking iOS over Android over that specific issue seems odd. They get brownie points for having blocked it from the start?

Doesn’t iPhone already have pretty much the exact restrictions that are coming to Android?
