Just a hunch, but maybe most judges qualified to rule on an aviation case have at some point worked with some major carriers?

And I suppose you assume that cars will just float magically if you build a railroad?
I’m not sure if you’ve really thought this one through. Railway maintenance is expensive, and operating stations and switches requires personnel as well. In low-traffic areas you could get away with one single bus line, meaning you only need to maintain that one bus and pay the driver’s salary.
Hmm that is alarming then. To be honest I didn’t read the complete article, which you linked, but on first glance paints a very different picture.
Coal use isn’t cast as a sign of villainy, as it would be among some circles in the U.S. – it’s simply seen as outdated. This pragmatic framing, Fishman argued, allows policymakers to focus on efficiency and results rather than political battles.
There’s truly something for western politicians to learn from this
This article was right up my alley. I’ve been considering buying a cheapo smartwatch. I suppose this one couldn’t be used as a mp3 player for jogging though.
Glad to hear I’m not alone with these thoughts!
I propose, as a counter movement, automatic engagement; Instead of “liking” or “upvoting”, leave a comment every time you see something you support. And try to abstain from commenting on ragebait or otherwise intentional attention seeking. If enough people start doing this, the algorithm should start adapting to prefering more substantial or positive material, right? I know it sounds naive, but worth a shot!
The problem with regulation is that most of these data giants are US companies, and due to regulatory capture since the 1980s you can’t expect much to change there.
Amazing! I did not expect that outcome from my comment
I’m no expert, but I feel like anywhere they use an algorithm to drive up “engagement” it leads into people being fed rage-bait and then them acting accordingly. This “attention economy” needs to end somehow.
He does anything to make the Epsein circus go away
That function doesn’t seem to function properly btw. I have tried with “meme” and “politics” and communities with those words in them still keep popping into my feed on PieFed.
What does this 2 hours of preparation before work look like? I honestly have no idea
Glad to hear Ukrainian forces care enough about their guys and gals to go through something like this to rescue them. I suppose the other side wouldn’t do the same.
That’s exactly what someone selling AI glasses would say
No it’s not my assertion. I’m just offering an another way of looking at it. It’s still possibly a pure conflict of interest. I guess with limited information you never know
