Not Australian, but looking through the proposal, it seemed pretty basic. It’s pretty sad that even a relatively toothless measure like this couldn’t pass. Though I’m definitely not throwing stones, I’m in America.
I hope you are right. More end-user freedom is a good thing and, if it is a matter of turning the tide, I’d love to see more tech companies competing to be the most accessible for repairs.

I’m trying to be empathetic because I know there are vulnerable people who live in FL, but if there’s any place that deserves to find out after a lot of fucking around, it’s Florida.
Yup. As Carlin said, no conspiracy is necessary when interests converge. The people who made the system fundamentally designed it to encourage behavior that enriches themselves and others like them. There’s no deep state, outside of the super rich old white dudes who pal around together and just want to get richer. And anyone who isn’t in that demographic is a threat.

Not that you asked, but my advice is to shoot your shots wherever you find them. If the odds are bad either way, might as well aim for the jobs that will keep you sane and make things better for yourself and others.
