Technology@lemmy.world•‘Front page of the internet’: how social media’s biggest user protest rocked RedditEnglish
5·2 years agoYeah it has been nice. I definitely miss out on some news, but it’s worth it to avoid a lot of the other content there. I pop in with redreader every so often, but honestly it doesn’t seem worth it to ever fully go back.

Technology@lemmy.world•San Francisco says tiny sleeping 'pods,' which cost $700 a month and became a big hit with tech workers, are not up to codeEnglish
16·2 years agoI worked normally hour, I just didn’t need a full apartment. You going to start your work day there’s breakfast you work there’s lunch you work until 5:00 and then you go to the gym and then you go back for dinner when you do something cool in the city. I actually have really fond memories of that period.

Technology@lemmy.world•San Francisco says tiny sleeping 'pods,' which cost $700 a month and became a big hit with tech workers, are not up to codeEnglish
251·2 years agoAs a person who worked at one of these cool tech companies that provided food for breakfast lunch and dinner and snacks 24/7, I found I was only using my apartment to sleep. Most of the offices of other amenities such as a gym, and all the tech workers would go out for happy hours. If I was single this would be a very valid option. Some people don’t plan to spend time in their apartments.

World News@lemmy.ml•Did Facebook fuel political polarization during the 2020 election? It’s complicated.
16·2 years agoI worked there, not complicated. They allow for troll farms cause they don’t violate their ToS. So many far right groups/movements run by admins that live in eastern Europe…
