Im amazed how many people think the surveillance state would need AI as an excuse to build data centers.

(And not that this is the was AI is going as govs tend to have infinite money and very bad quality control (at least nowadays). Seems like people have their timelines wrong).

But I’m also getting annoyed in general (not here) with how many people are going ‘everyone who disagrees with me is actually a bot/everything I wish wasnt true is AI now’.

I do play quite a few games (and own a lot more), but the closest I got to the epic launcher is this popup after I got the free games out of FOMO.

And no, it isn’t installed. So any slop improvements on speed don’t matter to me at all. Odd how Steam doesn’t have to beg me to ask if the launcher is installed (nor does it need some weird popup to check how many people have installed it).

Im just surprised they have even more ideas they have not written up, surely we are missing out on some quality content.

Butlerian Jihad now.

I think it is a combination of VCs really believing this is the next big gold rush and radical innovation which will change the world plus a few true believers who think we need all the … compute (I dislike the word) to run the acausalrobotgod who will fix all our problems (and ‘We’ need to prepare so China doesnt build it first).

To go back to the first group, when they say ‘dont get left behind’ they are bot addressing you or me, but other capitalists (as in people with money, not just people who believe the ideology is best)

Edit: wow this question attracted a lot of conspiracy theorists.

Somebody with a monkey paw “I wish people making decisions about the military were not paradox games fanboys”.

Monkey paw makes sure they never even heard of Clausewitz.

At least they managed to make it look like an adult.

This is sad news, as companies are not alive, this means there is no new public toilet.

My NFT blockchain store selling segways in second life is now using LLMs! (Now also available on your Blackberry). Im ready to be raptured, I dont want to be left behind!

risk being left behind

Im also simply not sure how much of a risk that is, people keep saying that but I’m not sure being conservative on new tech has lead to much business closures the past 20 years.

That is a new way to discriminate against older people.

Elon did his ‘oops I did an antisemitism’ tour in jan 2024, so indeed. (Also really dire to hear that tour from the side of the survivor they had talked into joining, also note Elons ‘anti sniper’ shield he is carrying around his neck).

For people who use firefox:

browser.nova.enabled = false in your about config gets rid of the corners.

Dont you know? Racist developers will solve the toxic ground on Mars.

Oh no thats worse.

How many of those coworkers were also all in on room temp copper superconductors?

Thanks I was afk so only could do a quick share.

Unfortunately, I think their AI generated proof is itself correct, so I have to deal with it.

Well you can just ignore it, or even steal it. No copyright on it anyway ;).

Moldbug showing that the other neonazi tweet wasnt an accident. “What if AI solves the jewish question”

The factions exist and those are the hardcore anarchists.

A real electoral powerhouse.

(Aka a few guys on bsky with 10k followers max total).

And I say that as somebody who feels anarchist aligned.
