The person who was in charge in 1954 probably died super wealthy sometime in the 70s-80s. In that regard he correctly judged this to be a problem for future generations. We may think that it was selfish to burn his grandchildren’s future for his present comfort, but most of us are not sociopaths.

I’ve been cycling through them a few months at a time. When it gets harder and harder to find something interesting on, say, Netflix, I cancel and sign up for, say, HBO, then a few months later Disney+, rinse and repeat.

I refuse to pay for more than one at a time because I’m not watching more than one at a time. And when I go back to any of them after many months away, there will be new programmes in their catalogue.

Is this the one they said you’d need to register with a photo id if you wanted to access porn sites? The one opponents said would do the most good for online safety by teaching the nation to use VPN?

Why though? How is his life any different if he makes more money?

It takes a bit of effort to avoid amazon, and it does cost a bit more in money and convenience, but it is possible to not buy from them.

(It’s virtually impossible not to use their web services though unless you are a member of an uncontacted tribe in the, you guessed it, Amazon jungle).
