I was really hoping someone would say “Dead batteries” and I could do the whole, “I don’t know what I expected” bit.

“999,999,999 out of 1,000,000,000 dentists approve this toothpaste.”
“Oh, it must be a really good toothpaste th- wait. How did you find a billion dentists? Where are all these dentists coming from?”
They should make one about a woman who’s an executive in renewable energy. She lives in a small town with her boyfriend who’s an agriculture executive. Their hectic jobs require them to live near their most important projects.
She goes home to Seattle for Christmas where she visits her parents in their downtown penthouse. She encounters her flannel-clad, highschool boyfriend, who she thinks is still a barista, but it turns out he owns his own coffee chain. He was just covering a shift for one of his employees who’s a single mother and had an emergency. He’s good to his employees that way. Obviously, we don’t learn most of that until the end.
Her Mom urges her to maintain the small-town life she worked so hard for, but flannel man teaches everyone the meaning of Christmas and a choir of children sing carols as credits roll.
What’s in the box?
Don’t know why you got downvoted. That’s a neat and relevant anecdote.
Gauss I walked into that one, but at least it’s a coulomb!
(“Cool one.” I think I’m well past the point of reaching here.)
They should probably tape off the contacts to reduce the risk of forming a circuit, yeah.
Ohm sorry to be the voice of resistance here, but I don’t think this joke has much potential in its current state.
I feel like this is the correct answer. I remember some people calling them “meemees” though.
That’s how I pronounce it, but I interpreted the post as implying the OP pronounces it “meemee.”
How many other people call them meems?

5·2 months agoIt’s defined by the ICD and DSM. If it were too broad, it would be unknowable to us at this point without some major new discovery that changes the definition. Having said that, there aren’t really enough psych resources to go around so a lot of people are walking around undiagnosed but with very obvious symptoms. I don’t think this is bandwagoning. I think it’s people behaving rationally in response to the limitations of a relatively new and growing branch of medicine. Regardless, I’m happy to see people starting to acknowledge and accept a broader diversity of psychological states. I feel like it at least helps people get treatment, if they want it, by reducing the stigma around mental health diagnoses.
