This is awesome. I was looking into getting a ramp for my new robot vacuum to get over a small step I have in my house. Nearly half of my house is not being cleaned solely because of that step.

Was going to say the same. I’ve had a few of these over the years (they’re cheap plastic and break). But they are amazing.

I have a moth problem right now but they are no match for this. The salt gets sprayed like a shotgun blast and will get them as long as you shot in their general area.

I also use it on spiders. Every summer I have black widows around the house and this thing works wonders on them.

Just try not to drop them or keep the salt loaded in them too long. Those two things seem to be what has killed my previous ones more often.

You can use it as a primary phone as well. It doesn’t have to be a secondary, just an option.

Can confirm this. I experienced this on my Pi3 recently with a VPN. I mean, it wasn’t the end of the world. Just that the specific docker container I wanted to use wasn’t compatible because of ARM so I had to go with a different one.

It could be bad for specific things that are more obscure. But I use my Pi for PiHole adblocking and VPN and that’s it. My other stuff lives on another machine and the Pi is set up for redundancy and it’s more reliable if power outages happen since power in means power on by default.

If you can get one for cheap and just want it for the same reason, could be alright.

What are some examples of low-effort posts? I’ve never felt that way about any posts I’ve seen here. Granted I’m not a heavy user in this community, just been a lurker, but I may be using this more as I grow my own home lab.

SFTP has been mentioned and is a good choice but this could also be done over torrents too. It’s the other most common legal use besides Linux distros.

Probably a direct link to the home network so the camera looks like it’s on the same network.

I’ve thought of and tried this for my VR headset to my home in a similar manner. The VR headset will only stream from my gaming PC if it’s on the same network and so I’d hope to use a VPN to tunnel into my network when not at home to play remotely. I’ve not gotten this to work, but this sounds like a similar hope for OP with a camera.

Yeah that exactly, where they separate emails into promotional/social/etc. Outlook does this “Focused Inbox” thing that is obnoxious as well and somehow makes even less sense. Lots of users I supported on help desk got confused by it and couldn’t their emails when it was enabled.

I already have a difficult enough of a time with my free email provider misclassifying legitimate emails as spam and letting in actual spam than to have them do this again. I already disabled it and they reenable it on the new redesign.

My email provider did this again and it just keeps getting uglier and more dysfunctional with each iteration.

That sounds like a great idea but how is the ventilation on that setup? Does it have ventilation for letting in cool air and exhausting the hot air?

That’s a good point! Ever since that happened, I’ve made sure to read on the bottle/label and it’ll tell you whether they say it’s okay to dishwash or not.

Though I feel most secure hand washing. Ironic as I just washed mine today lol.

This applies to metal ones too. While they won’t shrink, they can be damaged.

I put one of my metal water bottles in and it scraped up the sides quite a bit. Definitely was only meant for hand washing. Didn’t destroy it, but kind of ruined the nice finish it had.

Not everyone can. I installed Amazon Echo in our home with a smart thermostat specifically because my dad was blind and couldn’t get up to manually change the thermostat. Being able to change the temperature using his voice gave him so much freedom and independence and improved his morale.

This kind of technology is sometimes necessary.

I wonder if that was intentional since OP hates copy pasting enough to equate with…something else that’s very distasteful online.
