  • Context: Just so no one gets confused— The scenario in this post is that the woman presumably who does not want to go to work, possibly because she wants to stay at home and be a domestic worker, is forced to by the state. There is no mysoginy here. Just a comment on what a woman is being forced to do against her will when she may, instead, want to be a mother which is totally fine and normal.

Comment: You can ignore my point if you want. This post is about women being forced to enter the workforce when they want to stay at home. The cope for this disempowerment is that “the state” (e.g. some other person) will raise her kids while she does whatever she is ordered to do. If you don’t see this as anti-human and dystopian I can’t do anything for you.

Commentary: The banning on this instance is a sign of weakness and intellectual dishonesty. My point is valid and actually in support of a woman’s choice in how she wants to live her life. Engage with the idea or accept your sickness as a shill/grievance monger. Lord have mercy.

You don’t need all of these communal things if a family simply raises their kids in a traditional way. What you’re describing is the commoditization of the nuclear family. It’s roundabout and worse overall. No one will love your kids and care for them like you will. Also the state pays for nothing because the state makes no money. It comes from the labor of the people. So really the mom is forced into the workforce to pay for childcare. Lol.

  • “I’m leaving America!”

To go where? And do what? Even if things somehow go south it’s going to be way better in America than basically any other western country for a long time. Europe is an ineffectual footstool of the US. They should unironically take Trump’s advice and learn to take care of themselves. I would vote to give each of these people $50k if they forfeited their citizenship when they left.

  • The problem is defederation. It basically breaks the entire concept of the “fediverse” and will prevent critical mass. Each instance becomes a little fiefdom. There should instead be the ablility to create and share extremely configurable filters (ala ad block lists). People can say and do whatever whilst simultaneously choosing what they do and don’t want to see at the individual level. The benefit is everyone sees what they want while also not losing access to any communities simply due to an egotripping instance provider. Kind of like an urbit model that isn’t so esoteric and weird.

  • If you’re looking for a Western apologist look elsewhere. That being said ‘food insecurity’ is in no way comparable to starving. We have the fattest poor people on the planet. There are a million and one ways to get food in the United States regardless of how broke you are. Also the inflation driving the ‘hand to mouth’ argument in the article is driven primarily by financial irresponsibility by the central planners in the US. Money printer go brrr.

The “overemployment” article is referring specifically to remote workers. That’s not to keep up with inflation. That’s free money. A ton of people started doing that during covid. Ive been at companies where they had to fire people because they weren’t doing anything and just collecting a check. It was a huge joke online for over a year. I’m not denying that there are people that work two jobs but a lot of that is because they are competing with an endless deluge of low skilled labor pouring into the country everyday.

The problem with American debt is most of it is unsecured student debt. 300k mortgage debt is healthy if you have collateral. The solution is simple. Don’t give 18 year olds 100k loans. When the government guarantees a loan for anything the price for that thing will increase dramatically in an economy driven by greed.

I’m the first one to say that the US should be more protective of the worker and stymie limitless immigration that undercuts the value of work but Communism or whatever term you feel like using to justify a centrally planned economy is equally wrong in the opposite direction. The answer is unsatisfying but it’s a mix. How that mix is proportioned will depend on the culture of the people and what they value. Then as a people they can decide what to incentivize. At some point though you have to give individuals the ability to reap what they personally have sowed even if it is more (or less) than their neighbor.
