I support all the Trump-bashing in the world, but let’s not allow crappy big businesses to just blame everything on him. McDonald’s has a responsibility and they haven’t lived up to it. Blaming Trump for consumers not choosing your overpriced, shitty product is not reasonable.

I think a feeling of distrust and betrayal will definitely remain for decades no matter what happens in USA. Many boycotters etc will definitely continue doing that for at least some products and on a state level we’ll never again be able to trust them with our data. That much is clear. At least I switched out all my tech and never going back

Here in Denmark - one of the US’s closest allies for decades with a generally positive public opinion - America’s reputation has absolutely tanked. Being at all supportive of USA basically reveals you as a stupid far-right nut. We just need our politicians to see this as well because the US reputation is fully dead here.

Not really, no. Today the aversion to it has been imported, but not 15 years ago. Of course when you use it in English you know it’s a significantly worse word but you also don’t have the cultural bagage to know entirely what it entails. I don’t have any hard set-in-stone viewpoints either, to be fair. I feel like I have a set of core beliefs values, but otherwise I’m fairly impressioniable and feel differently depending on the specific topic. I never understood people who just label themselves by a specific ideology and then just base everything off of that.

I gotta say I feel a great deal of sympathy with what Luigi stands for though. Murder may be despicable, but if the common people don’t stand up against the unfair system no one will - and I certainly feel no sympathy for the victim. Especially in this Trumpian era of tech-fascists trying to turn all of humanity into slaves.

However, I do agree with your take. The news are designed for shock value and quick consumption. It’s not a meaningful pursuit - and I’ve personally spent too much energy on Trump… although it’s hard not to since I’m Danish and he wants to invade us…
