Home assistant has their own system I believe? If you sign up too their subscription? Or you can locally host whisper and piper yourself and go completely local.
Always have back ups. Google (or whomever) can always ban your account on a whim for whatever reason. There are plenty of instances of people losing everything. Even high profile people.

You are probably better off using something like Tailscale. You don’t need to expose your system with a reverse proxy then.
