I don’t really know if it works or does something.
I wouldn’t count on it beyond the novelty.
On Windows, download the google drive program and set it to a drive letter. Then once setup, create a pagefile on the drive. It’s memory as fast as your internet connection.

If they knowingly sell to EU customers, then EU law applies. 2 year warranty, and burden of proof on the seller for defects, not the buyer.

2·25 days agoOn Linux there is “onedriver”, a 3rd party onedrive client. Works great, but iirc not with sharepoint shares linked in your onedrive folder.

2·25 days agoCould be, my kids have identical pc’s, but the disks are different. One has a slower ssd and its symptoms are exactly how you described, I knew it was slower but it’s all I had around. Both pc’s have SATA ssds. We’re saving for new disks, which I’m sure will alleviate the symptoms.
At work a similar problem with Windows server. The hosting company changed the IO tier and like snow these issues disappeared. Clicking start and waiting for it to open would take a minute, completely unacceptable, but ultimately fixed by having faster storage.
I’m not saying Microsoft is doing good work, I’m suggesting a workaround until they do, which we both know is very probably never.
They already pushed out older hardware with Windows 11, they won’t care about slower storage options.

2·4 months agoI have Beyerdynamic DT990 Pros because they’re so repairable. Changed the pads a few times and recently, after over a decade, I modded it to have a removable cable as the old cable’s connector started to misbehave.
I used to use steelseries headsets but they kept breaking in similar ways and just wanted some decent quality, repairable headphones.
Can definitely recommend. Sound is amazing.

More importantly, what brand, type and/or specs. It’s easy to get cheap disks with crap performance. I have a few around that we quickly dubbed “Super Slow Disks”.
