Usually when someone is parachuted into a seat where they don’t live, the locals are usually not pleased.

Almost all the nasty things Trump has done appear to be flouting laws. Good thing he has indemnity.

Are they expecting an invasion? Who wants to invade? I suspect China.

So Trump is telling ICE to break the law? It looks like Trump is guilty of another crime.

If someone signs an order that is illegal, aren’t they breaking the law? Shouldn’t they be charged and arrested?

It’s an interesting point, if we get all the 65+ to work till they drop they won’t be around much longer as they will drop like flies freeing up all the housing, pensions etc. Just think, we all would have that in our future and how motivating it would be.

Amazing that so many don’t think that. The media must be working overtime to hide such a mess from so many.

If you are no good at diplomacy then I expect that building a dyke to keep the invaders out would seem worth while. All other presidents seemed to get by without it and history shows that whatever defences you build, some cunning adversaries will find a way around them.

Conservatives in Australia are publicly backing away from emulating DOGE and Trump. Publicly but I’m sure that it will change if they win in May. Can’t trust them as they are rabid.

Back to Biden. Trump is setting up a kleptocracy like Putin has and Biden looks like a moral beacon by comparison.

Million/billion, the interesting fact is the scale of corporate graft. Paying shareholder’s money to suck up to Trump is really disgusting and any system that allows it is deeply broken.

I thought Trump was expanding it to everyone. Probably including people in other countries he doesn’t like.

Isn’t Trump a convicted criminal? There would be a lot of happier people if they just sent him to El Salvador.

It’s all built on trust and stability which is hard to earn but oh so easy to throw away.

Maybe the rest of the world should stop buying stuff from the US as it is obviously climate lethal. If there is no reporting on how it’s done and the governments policies are to exacerbate the climate crisis then……

The relevance is the difficulty in convincing people who live in cities designed for car traffic to stop driving and start walking. Distances are large enough to get significant push back.

There is also a social engineering aspect. Our populations and cities have been developed in a spread out fashion with services and shops established in hubs. They aren’t the villages of the early 1900s. The car was the major design influence, hence the problem. Some people are lucky and can walk, others are able to cycle however many just can’t conceive anything other than a car. That’s where EVs come in.

I have 30km there and 30km back from the from the shops on country roads. An electric car seems a safer and more practical way to encourage a change in my circumstances.

The Morrison government in Australia told all the temporary workers, backpackers, international students, tourists to go home during Covid and Australia is still paying the price of economic dislocation. A lot of these people worked on farms, in cafes, construction, hospitals etc and we had massive problems because him thought they were a burden.
