Or perhaps I just think differently than you.
Independent thinker valuing discussions grounded in reason, not emotions.
I say unpopular things but never something I know to be untrue. Always open to hear good-faith counter arguments. My goal is to engage in dialogue that seeks truth rather than scoring points.

Or perhaps I just think differently than you.

I hate none of the three.

I’m sure you’re never wrong about anything. Maybe you should start a podcast.

Yeah, but the question was; who decides what is disinformation? If it was some truly competent and unbiased AI system then I perhaps wouldn’t be as concerned about it, though I can see issues with that too, but humans are flawed and I see this as a potenttial slippery slope towards tyranny and censorship.

Who decides what the facts are?

He has never claimed to be a legitimate journalist. He has said repeatedly that you shouldn’t take him too seriously - he’s a cage fight commentator after all.

I didn’t draw that line - the European Union did. They probably have their facts and reasons for that but please, enlighten me about how combining pedestrians and fast moving vehicles is more reasonable.

Yeah, I don’t think anyone would be advocating for allowing gas powered mopeds traveling at 40kph (25mph) on the sidewalk but when it’s electric they somehow feel differently about it. Where ever we draw the line is going to be arbitrary but it needs to be drawn somewhere. I think 25kph (15mph) is a good limit as it’s about the speed you can comfortably maintain with an acoustic bike as well. Me plus the bike is around 120kg (250lbs). That’s a lot of energy hitting a pedestrian even at 15mph. It’ll definitely cripple a grandmom.

I’m not the slightest worried about the tire itself. I can just take out the screws when summer comes and it’s like they never were there. It’s the sidewalls that give out on my tires, not the tread. I’ve got like 0.15 bars (2psi) pressure in them during the winter time which absolutely annihilates the sidewalls so I get about one year of use from the rear tire.

Box of 500 screws was 13 euros and I didn’t need to wait for them to show up in the mail. I’m not worried about damage to the tire itself. How long the tube will last has me a bit concerned.

Perhaps an unpopular opinion but I think that if it has a throttle and goes faster than 15mph (25kph) then it belongs on the road with cars.

But it does mean I’m doing something right, as not knowing about things like this is exactly what I aim for. Not knowing what “Hawk Tuah” is means I’ve successfully excluded the kinds of things from my media diet that I intended to avoid. I’m not making any universal moral judgments here - these are my values. You’re free to value different things, but don’t waste your time telling me I’m valuing the wrong ones.

Exactly. There’s a limited amount of things I can pay attention over the week. The fact that I don’t know about some completely trivial cultural thing means I’ve paid attention to something else instead. That something else may very well be equally trivial but it also might not.

Please, tell me more about my values.

The fact that I have no idea what “Hawk Tuah” is means I’m doing something right.

Fine by me as long as you keep old.lemmy for the rest of us. The current UI is about as good as it can be. I wouldn’t change a thing.

Why does it make someone an idiot if they wish to be a millionaire?

Highly dependent on where one lives I guess. My friend just rented a new apartment and his rent is over double what my mortage payments are. That’s also money he is never getting back where as in my case my house is paid in about 15 years after which I own the damn thing and the monthly mortage payment drops off entirely. Excluding mortage, the montly cost of owning my house is 275€ which includes water and electricity.
Combined with uninformed people thinking AI implies general intelligence and then criticizing LLM’s for not matching these false expectations. It’s kind of like criticizing cruise control for not driving you home.
Thanks for the credit!
