  • On Earth, deltas form when rivers slow down as they reach larger bodies of water. These formations are important to scientists because they preserve geological, climatic, and even biological history over long periods.

So the article is saying that Titan’s lack of deltas is surprising because of its active river systems of methane and ethane.

Means that maybe we’re wrong to assume that wherever there are flowing rivers of liquid and sediment, deltas will naturally form.

  • They’re downvoting me, the poster, not the article.

I have a, um, passionate group of haters on Lemmy that follow me around and downpost everything I post.

I’m not imagining it, they actually talk about it in posts and brag about it to me. And of course, you are seeing it happen too. LMAO

Even just today, I posted a post in a community about positivity and peace and quiet and talked about a pretty, short scooter ride I had earlier.

And I got 58 downvotes!! In a community about positivity and good peaceful vibes. lolololol (https://lemmy.today/post/27013791)

Not very scientific-minded, but meh, Lemmy’s think it’s actually going to make me go away.

    It won’t. :)

    Proof of scoot post:

  • Why is a science article being downvoted in a science community?!?

They’re not downvoting the article, they’re downvoting the poster–me.

Because even tho this is a non-political science community, some people on Lemmy are mad that I voted a certain way in the last election and that I post conservative articles in conservative communites, so they follow me around to downvote everything I post. Regardless of subject matter. Regardless of community.

Which is strange, but meh, it’s Lemmy. Some people take Lemmy way too seriously. lol
