Curdie@lemmy.worldto Programming@programming.dev•What are the craziest misconceptions you’ve heard about programming from people not familiar with it?161·1 year agoI enjoy your comment so much because your methodical and patient approach to debugging code is exactly what’s required to fix a printer. You literally are really good at computers even if your aren’t armed with a lot of specific knowledge. It’s the absolutely worst because troubleshooting without knowledge and experience is painfully slow and the whole time I’m thinking"they know so much more about this than I do! If they’d just slow down and read what’s on the screen …" But many people struggle to do even basic troubleshooting. Their lack of what you have makes them inept.
Oh really?
Do ssh-copy-id next please.
This will be a nice improvement for me.
Curdie@lemmy.worldto New Communities@lemmy.world•c/Palworld, a community for the new monster-taming gameEnglish1·1 year agoPalworld is better with friends because I have good friends but the game doesn’t get twice as hard and frustrating when you’re alone. I enjoy games that encourage coordination and teamwork , but I think that kind of gameplay would be out of place in such a whimsical world.
Curdie@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft is discontinuing Windows Mixed RealityEnglish2·1 year agoThis was my experience as well. It worked great if your hands were out in front of you but if you needed to move your arms around (beat saber, any archery game, etc) it just didn’t work.
I feel personally attacked.
I can definitely Avalonia for cross platform UI. It’s amazing.
