I’m sure those all contribute, but a lack of universal healthcare is almost certainly the biggest issue. Even with most Americans having some kind of health insurance, we are discouraged from seeking care, our system favors treatment of problems over prevention of problems, and we often receive the legal minimum of care instead of the best possible care so that insurance companies can make more money.
You know what’s cool about “natural flavors”? They just have to be found in nature to call them that. They can be synthesized in a lab and still be a “natural flavor.”
P.S. don’t fall for the naturalistic fallacy. This comment is about tricky vocabulary used by the food industry. Whether or not a chemical is found in nature has nothing to do with whether it is good or bad for you. Arsenic is natural.
No, the government generally has a plan and definite budget for their money, which includes social programs and infrastructure. You can debate about how good it is, but at least it’s there.
Giving money to a charity directly controlled by them (or their kids, or one of their billionaire friends) might just make that money disappear.
