Chromium based not foss. It’s a hard pass for me

I personally use librewolf. Firefox is making it look like they are private, but you need to tweak a lot of settings to get there

Just install another more privacy friendly browser

I hope they pull out honestly. It’s very easy to find other ways to get your news. It might actually be more healthy for society than having Facebook and Google pushing targeted news onto their users.
