I actually follow government subsidised but independent news from Germany. They are also doing a “news in 100 seconds”-podcast on Spotify. Some of the channels I follow also cover events like the general strike in Italy (and how it is not widely covered in mainstream media) but I stay vigilant and don’t treat it as a single source of truth.

You can also overdo that. Stay healthy and don’t stress your body too much. Slow and steady wins the race.

I think it is fine but we also need lessons to properly interact with the technology. Scams, fraud, disinformation and checking sources were handled very abstractly at best and archaic at worst.

One could argue that the threat of imitation is considerable. However we have not seen any open discussion of further attempts so that might be a mute point.
