They would lose me, if I had an alternative. In my neighborhood it’s cable or 1mbps DSL. Neighborhoods across the street to the east and west both have nice and cheap fiber but my neighborhood is older than one and less affluent than the other.

It’s a lot of fun, but not an internet replacement yet. They did just come out with a new dual band that has enough bandwidth to do something useful. Can’t wait to give it a try.
Still very worth setting up. I have a node that runs in my attic, and a few that I can take around with me. I can get good single most anywhere in my neighborhood, and I have enough nodes nearby that I can pretty much communicate with people all over the metro area (I’m in the twin cities).

Why doesn’t anyone see this for what it is. They put monitoring for certain keywords but fucked up the code and it blocked some users through incompetence. They fixed the filters, but I guarantee they are sending reports to the White House…

The last couple years have convinced me that we are deep into a kakistocracy, everywhere, government, business, finance… Everyone in power is just monumentally stupid. Perhaps they are just insulated since they have all the fucking money and do not have to inhabit the same reality the rest of us do.
These easily impressed, shallow thinkers control everything.

I actually kind of want him to succeed in this. If we manage to get ourselves out of this fucking nightmare, we’re going to need to undo a lot of damage, and this would open up one much needed tool.

I’ve got 30tb or so made up of 4 and 10tb used drives. All I’ll buy anymore. In fact, I need to change out of of my parity drives. Hopefully used market is still somewhat affordable.

We are well past this stage. I know so many people who will, to this very moment argue that worrying about any of this is just being too political, or that this is just regular left vs. right political fighting that doesn’t really have an impact on us. Same people tell you that if protestors would just let “law enforcement” do their job, none of this would have happened.
It’s going to get real bad, and it’s going to have to directly impact many more people before this country cares. I’m trying not to let this lead to apathy on my part, I’m still looking for ways to fight. We all need to.
