This does help, and thank you. In truth, I don’t even want medication, I’m middle aged and this is the brain I’m used to. Would just be nice to understand myself a little better and maybe start getting some better strategies in place.
It’s just grating that every time I ask, I’m redirected. Maybe they just think I’m pill seeking.
Goddamnit, another thing I do to cope. I keep asking my doc how to get diagnosed, I just keep getting antidepressants prescribed which do not help.
That story is immediately what came to mind.

This fucker who clawed his way into his C level position though merit, and hard work, and the same last name as the owner, and all he could do to inspire the team was tell us about how a 91 year old who lost his job to AI was saying how he would be fine. I mean, if he can find a way to be happy, we all can!

Done by design, so that we don’t notice the death of democracy.

I don’t believe we can come back from this, it’s calvinball from here on. rules don’t apply anymore, it’s just vibes and whims of a ketamine fueled nazi and his geriatric anger sycophant.
Yeah, I’m a fancy bricklayer these days…
My most recent job hunt has me thinking the same. I used to be a dime a dozen, and young folks were real and serious competition in the job market, but I’ve been in IT since before the .com crash and now my skills are once again becoming unique.
I’ve been raising my kids, warning them about the shit state of IT. Maybe I should have been nerding them harder.

Since the aquisition, I’ve moved all my home infrastructure off vmware to debian/docker and currently trying to get in front of our next renewal at work. I’ve been ready to pivot if necessary but no one seems to believe me that we need to be ready for our pending licensing converation…
if I ran the world, these tech companies would get the ma bell treatment, heck the current phone companies need a round 2.
4grams@awful.systemsto Technology@lemmy.world•Majority of Americans now use ad blockersEnglish27·1 年前IMHO the problem is the same one as everywhere. Companies are no longer interested in creating products, they are only interested in creating revenue streams. I’ve been working on my finances lately and it’s incredible how many ‘products’ have become subscriptions over time.
I’d love to be able to buy a day’s access, or access to an article. If I want to share it, I’m willing to pay a small fee to show it to certain folks. I feel like there could be a market there but in the current financial climate it would never get any interest or backing because it wouldn’t be a method to capture people into a reoccurring billing cycle.
4grams@awful.systemsto Technology@lemmy.world•Majority of Americans now use ad blockersEnglish49·1 年前I’ve always thought that the ad supported internet is something people will eventually get sick of and the financial foundation would evolve over time to find models that don’t rely on infinite spam. Instead efforts are focussed on forcing us to view them. At this point I’m expecting the next version of Chrome to require the Ludovico technique while browsing.

I’ve got to imagine the impact is going to be spectacular since they are doing this desperate IPO as their fall from grace accelerates.
Been saying that we’re headed for balkanization since the clown won his first term. Not seeing any reason to change that prediction.
