Heard a few people complaining about energy price increases today at work. I have corrected them that is only really gas prices that are changing by much. Electricity is changing by less than inflation and it dropped a bit last time too.
I think this is a big piece of understanding that needs to become a central part of the public conversation and accelerate the transition.
I don’t think most people are aware of how much it is already costing, to not switch to renewables.
meanwhile trump pays billions of taxpayer dollars to cancel solar and windfarm projects so his citizens can pay for the highest diesel prices ever that he caused.
but they voted for him, even after they saw the shit shipwreck the first time, they thought you know what, we need more of this and did it …again.
and we have the LNP government in Qld that want to take us back and ONP and LNP federally that want to take us back and people will vote for them anyway, even after seeing the shitshow in the US

Diesel is so cheap in the US it’s been pretty funny watching the reaction compared to prices in the UK. I don’t drive but last time I saw a petrol station it was pushing £2/litre. Which is £9 ($12) a gallon.
I hear more complaining about fuel prices from Americans than I do anyone else.
5.9 billion saved is real, but it is a hedge, not a cure. The UK still imports the gas it burns on a still February night, and no wind farm reopens a closed strait.
