Like for example That change of feeling when you stop hating the thing you created and it starts being precious to you.

The specific feeling of wanting to be anywhere but here, but not dying. I want to stop existing, but dying is too much. I want to be nothing. To evaporate. Idk how to explain it.

I quite of have the same feeling…

It’d be something close to “self-nihilification” and “ego dissolution”, except the thing you’re describing is the feeling itself, to which I’d coin the words “egonihiliphily” (fondness/love towards the own nihilification) or “egonihilipathy” (pathos after one’s own nihilification).

Latin and Greek words make interesting jigsaw pieces oftentimes. (Also, I wonder if there’s a German sehrlangeszusammengesetzteswort too, as I often hear “there’s always a German word for it”)

Look, anybody can open a bag of chips. I could just clamp down and rip it to shreds without a second thought. I want to open the bag without exploding the contents. So I pull just a little. And I struggle to find the point that it gives without losing control. I want a word for the tiny struggle.

It’s slow. It’s controlled, methodical, purposeful, patient, delicate, but it is not weakness. I think that deserves a word.

At the risk of teaching you something you might already know:

Instead of pulling both sides independently, you should brace your hands against each other. Grab the sides of the bag with your fingers, and have the palms push against each other. That way, as soon as the bag opens, the pressure between your palms is released and you “automatically” stop pulling the bag open.

Apologies for taking so long to get back to you. My drawing skills suck, so here’s a picture:

The “heels” of my hands push against each other, giving very easy and precise control. It’s kind of hard to explain in words how much advantage (pun intended) this method has over just pulling both sides independently. Try it!

lol, it’s simpler than you think. I actually took a video, but couldn’t upload a video to Lemmy so I uploaded a still from the video. I placed my phone on the counter with the camera peeking over the edge of the counter.

And no, I will not be providing a visual aid for this!

In English: multiple words for what we simply call “love”. It encompasses many different feelings.

The unease of being watched while doing something (whether a job, a hobby, or a chore).

This. I work out in public a lot and sometimes it’s a creepy feeling, when people are watching the person not the task.

For context, I’m reading this on the can.

I want a word for taking an immensely satisfying dump. The kind where you can just sit down and in a short period of time with minimal effort just drop one large single uninterrupted turd, no splash, and don’t feel the need to squeeze out anything else.

Then this word can be casually applied to other tasks. Like pulling a trash bag out of the garbage can by the drawstrings in one simple motion without having to shimmy it out and it doesn’t even slightly move the trash can or liner. Or when you’re doing laundry, have a balled up sock and whipping it one in the air it becomes completely unbunched up in the right direction.

The feeling you get when realizing your life is too short to watch every single movie or show or listen to every single song.
