I tested 25, 28, 30, and 32 mm tires. The fastest tire was nearly six seconds per mile faster than the slowest.

    The push for speed and efficiency on bicycles over comfort has been just awful for widespread bike usage.

    Citation very much needed. Most newbies agree with you, hence the gradual fattening of bike tires. (I see an obviously parallel with SUVS.)
