The Lvov State Aircraft Repair Plant was disabled as a result of a strike by Russia's Oreshnik missiles on the night of January 9, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.
Genuine question, is there any relevance of using the Oreshnik to the target? Wouldn’t it have been possible to do similar damage with Kinzhal’s and Kh-101’s? I’m trying to understand if there’s more to it besides the signalling of shooting a nuclear capable IRBM right next to Poland.
The Lvov State Aviation Repair Plant has been struck with cruise missiles before. I think the main purpose of this Oreshnik strike was to send a message to the west.
