10·1 month agoIt annoys me every time someone puts out an article about Opera and doesn’t open the article with that. Stop pretending it’s just another browser.

602·1 month agoUse Apple and Google maps to report ICE officers as speed traps. They will not remove their own apps. And if they nuke the traffic stop feature they’ll be skewered. Since their apps are already reporting the locations of law enforcement officers it’s not different.
I’m assuming you installed Jellyfin server. How did you install it? And how much experience do you have with the installation method you used?

52·1 month ago“If” is not the correct word choice. It’s only dangerous when a service on the port gets exploited.

1·1 month agoJellyfin has setting for transcoding video when you are streaming to an external client. The problem is when you’re using tail scale Jellyfin is seeing that client as internal. Because of this you must set caps on the bitrate within the client that is accessing via tailscale.
This of course is assuming your server is capable of the needed transcoding demands.
Been using home assistant from the very early days and I did not realize this function existed. Thank you.

6·1 month agoHow much did the cans cost? We need all the math here.
Have the script generate the time and save it as a number or other variable, have the script start when home assistant does and check the variable, if the time has passed toggle the state of the AC and generate the next run time. If it time is in the future run the script again at that time.
The logic would look something like this: Start with home assistant or at the next interval of the script Check stored time, if it has elapsed toggle the state of the AC Generate new time and store it repeat the script at that time
I thought you could still buy the highest tier and get no subscription, just that they raised the price?
I already did, no regrets. The way it handles storage is the killer feature for me. Being able to upgrade my drives or add one with very little effort is worth every penny.
Edit: I was grandfathered in before the subscription
