Why are their official communities on Reddit and Discord? Why not a Mastodon or Lemmy community?

Can some tell me how Deezer stacks up? I switched from Spotify to Deezer a little while ago, not for any real reason, other than Spotify kept increasing their prices and I don’t really listen to audio books or podcasts even. Plus Deezer streams hifi flacs as standard so it sounds way better. I’ve got no idea how ethical they are tho, but would be interested to learn.

Edit: so I did my own research and looks like Deezer pays sightly more per stream than Spotify, but marginally…

Never mind, I’m beginning to build my local music library and self host it. I buy lots of merch and I go to gigs regularly. Once my library is substantial enough I’ll quit the streaming apps

Same. Jellyfin for media (symphonium app for music), immich for photos, nextcloud for pretty much everything else…

It’s peer to peer so it depends on what you’re concerned about. It shouldn’t raise any flags with your ISP I wouldn’t think

Ahh thanks for that clarification. That makes more sense. I suppose I’m combined type too. Was likely more evident when I was younger. These days my “hyperactivity” presents as hyperfocus whereas I would climb the walls as a kid.

Not sure that constitutes AuDHD… I’m inattentive ADHD with a tendency to hyperfocas on things that I’m really interested in. It’s worse if I’ve taken my meds too because then I’m locked in, hunter is suppressed… I literally don’t need food when I’m working on something I love.

Hell yes! I turned off location data for immich but now I can use this!

I think it’s because it’s a desktop app only (for now) and most people are consuming content on handhelds? Just a theory…

Freetube does need an app. I use a fork of NewPipe called PipeBender on Android and it works most of the time but not all the time. Freetube has never failed me though.

It’s true that, for people who don’t have ADHD, the meds used to treat it can be misused for ‘recreational purposes’. For people with ADHD however, is not a party drug. Infact, it has the opposite effect’s (generally).
